The AMT team is very excited to provide you with information on new releases for the second half of 2005.

2005 is the year for sci-fi products. Based on customer requests we will be re-introducing 4 of the most requested AMT Star Trek models:
- #38387 USS Enterprise T.V. Show 3 pc Set,
- #38389 Klingon Bird of Prey,
- the Star Trek 3 pc Adversary Set (Includes Romulan Warbird, Klingon Bird of Prey and Ferngi Marauder)
- #38388 USS Enterprise Movie 3 pc set.

A flyer is attached featuring these re-releases.

Just got this email this morning. Looks like they are not abandoning Trek altogether like the rumor mill's been saying.

Hmmmm, I'd have to wonder why they consider some of those "the most requested"? It doesn't make sense to eliminate the Miranda Class. That would be a good 1/350th kit.

But a 1/350th scale Reliant doesn't exist already. They are just running thier old molds again.

Not that there's anything wrong with that...

#38387 & #38388 are the 1/2500 Entrprises, from TOS to the E-E. those were a good move, IMO. Especially the B-C-E pack, as it's going for big bucks on evilBay. The Adversary Set is pretty good, as you could probably pull off the KBop as being a 1/1000 scale to display with all the PL conversions! Big Smile [:D]
The big KBop is the only one I'm not sure was a good move, though I'm sure it sold well. And the same 1/1000 argument could be made for a 1/350 display with the refit! Wink [;)]

actually the AMT BOP is still a good kit being more detailed than the one offered in the Adversary set too bad though AMT didn't release a D'drex class Warbird that matched the size of the TNG Enterprise D though

And also why didn't they re release the Enterprise D?

I dont know what it is with me.. But I got myself the really old 3 piece adversary set from the TOS era for a job that I am doing.. And I have fallen in love with it.. Now I want to do alot more Klingon and Romulan stuff.. Here I was just an Enterprise man, and now I want to do this other stuff.. I love it!

you got to admit Chris that the D'drex Class WarBird that comes in the TNG Adversary set seems tempting enough to try to light up. and what ships come in the TOS adversary set I only know of two adversaries the D7 and the Romulan Bird of Prey.

According to the original post at Starship Modeler - http://www.starshipmodeler.net/cgi-bin/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=28089 - the schedule is:

September for the E-B, E-C & E-E set and the big KBoP.
October for the E-Nil, E-A and E-D set.
November for the Adversary set.

Your right Mikey, the TOS adversary kit has the Klingon Battle Cruiser and the old Rom Bird of Prey..

I will say one thing, although it is a very basic design. Once I finished doing that little Bird of Prey, painting it, then put on the Eagle decals for it. It just looks magnificent! I love it! Here is a picture of the set I just finished.

I decided to give each of the 3 ships a distinct look of thier own.. I did the TOS Enterprise in the a light Grey. The Romulan BOP in a flat white, and the D-7 in a flat drab green.. I know the original D-7's werent green. But as I said, I wanted them to have a distinct look about them.. I am actually thinking of changing the D-7 to a neautral grey?...

Whoa! Those look great, Chris! I don't believe I've ever seen that particular set look quite as nice as that. Big Smile [:D]

actually you know Chris that D7 is pretty close in color to the one shown in the TNG episode with the Klingon sleeper ship which was a D7
