just heard last week FireFly will premiere this Friday at around 7pm which is great news since it first premiered on FOX and then cancelled after 3 episodes so lets hope it lasts longer this time.

Yeah SciFi channel is repeating the show to get us ready for the upcoming Serenity movie.I think they showed more than three episodes on Fox though but they moved its time and day around all over the place and thats a big contributing factor for its undeserved demise. I have the DVD box set and it has three unaired episodes in it,so tune in and see if they air them here if you hav'nt picked up the box set.

Sort of. The new BSG Miniseries was made w/an eye towards a possible series. It was also made for TV, not the big-screen. I've not heard of Joss Whedon doing the same w/this full-length feature film, tho. Still, would be very kewel if the cast were able to come back for a full series again. Big Smile [:D]

I would love to see this series picked up again. At first I just said "eh, whatever" when my wife told me about it, then she made me sit down and watch it, and I was freakin' hooked.

I can hardly wait until the movie, FINALLY I'll be able to see River cut loose and show more of what was just starting to manifest at the end of the series.

The chemistry between the crew was fantastic as well.

Boy I missed this series.

the odd thing is if there are only 6 episodes that were made why put it into Andromeda's time slot and say its on Fridays at 7/6 central when that means they must have picked it up and are trying to buy time to round up the cast again and get the sets set up. I just hope I'm right about this. Face it we have 5 more weeks worth of Firefly left before they run out of episodes.

No, there were 14 episodes of Firefly made. 11 were aired on Fox, and the DVD set has all 14 episodes on it.

More than enough time to round up the crew, nab the sets from Serenity and start on a new season.

No mainstream models of anything from Firefly exist right now that I'm aware of. I know of one resin kit from a company called MiniModelMadness - http://www.minimodelmadness.com/store/ - , but haven't purchased it nor know of anyone who has.

I dont think they'll round up the cast and sets untill they see how the movie does.
It would be great if Firefly gets another shot but I think its all up to us.I also do think it would have a better chance with the SciFi channel.I dont know why Joss Whedon did'nt go to them first with this show.
What mostley ticked me off was that Fox canceled this show for a Fast and the Furious wannabe show called Fastlane. That turned out well did'nt it?I dont think it lasted much longer than Firefly and wich one is being made into a major motion picture?Fox must be shock full of geniouses.

In a perfect world, this show would pull a Family Guy and come back from the dead... SciFi just has to get great ratings for it and the DVD would have to be a good seller for that to happen

The Browncoats are coming out in force for this movie, The official Serenity web site is very good, They have been having preview showings of this movie for the last 6 months or more, the modeling possibilities are endless. I saw the show on Fox while flat on my back while recovering from a spinal injection, best hour of that night, that's for sure.

The more I think about this, I just don't see Firefly coming back to TV. Fox already had to "admit" to screwing up when the brought back Family Guy - they won't do that again. Futurama got screwed over; Arrested Development - one of the funniest shows on TV aside from The Venture Bros & Family Guy - barely got a third season green lit... The programming executives at Fox don't know a good thing when they see it. And SciFi just doesn't have the money to produce any more first-run series that what they have now.

Hopefully the movie will be good and will get the business to warrant sequels.

Perhaps if SciFi would stop with so many of those hokey SciFi "Original" movies, they could dump the money into series like this. I'm a sucker for watching those movies, hoping they'll actually be good, but more often than not I'm disappointed. On the other hand, the series they do are worth watching.

I totally agree!
If the SciFi channel would just stop making all those horrible B-movies maybe they would have enough money to make more well made original shows.I am so sick of all those crappy movies on Saturday nights.
They also need to remember that its called the SCIFI channel. Not the HORROR channell.Let them get their own channel.

Sci-fi doesn't "make" those movies. They buy them and air them before they go direct to video.

I don't mind horror on sci-fi. Horror and science-fiction and fantasy have always gone well together. But Cape Fear? Come on. That's a thriller. Not the same.

OK,maybe if they stop buying those crappy movies they can afford to pick up a series or two.
