Nice AT-ST

A cheap model that turned out well was AMT's new (Star Wars) AT-ST. Few parts, fun to build, very nice results. Lacking interior and the option to have the window deflectors open, though.

my fiance built that kit ( and i painted it in gray and dark green camo because i had the left over paint in my airbrush... Smile [:)] ) along with the speeder bike one and i gotta say i don' thave that high an opinion of either. it's simple and i guess fun to build if you're not taking it too seriously ( and i can see merit in that as well ) but aside from the seemingly poor fit (which was partially my fiance's fault), the parts are pretty roughly sketched out, the detail is not at all crisp and the at-st actually has parts where there's not only no detail there's no parts, ie the upper leg portions are actually just one sided. on top of that, there's no scale listed. we were looking at the death star model but decided against it figuring it it'd be something like 2 sides of a big ball wit a few rough bits to glue on.

glad you had fun building it though, guess i'm just anal about kits. or was there an even newer kit that came out that i don't know about?

I noticed the fit problem, too. But if your looking for a tougher star wars model, try the star destroyer. It actually feels like your building a model. Great detail and better fit.Cool [8D]

The Death Star is eight pieces of a dome. No addon parts. It's not even getting for free.

I loved my Speeder Bike. But the one I built was the original issue. It didn't have any really issues.

Let's see the photosSmile [:)]
I got that model for a few bucks in modelfiesta. It sure looks simple and I think I will take lots of liberties building it. I may add some extra weapons or something. Not sure when I will build it though.

I've still got to finish my AT-ST, Speeder Bike, 12" X-Wing (x2), 8" X-Wing and Millenium Falcon. I've checked out all of them, and while they aren't Tamiya kits they still are quite serviceable!

We need pics! Smile [:)]

Ok. We'll be waiting.
If only finemolds did an AT-ST and/or AT-AT...
I guess most won't agree but I'd be more willing to pay a high price for an AT-AT than for the millenium falcon.
