Aliens Power Loader

Here's what I have been working on for the last three weeks. There really isn't much to show as far as a finished model at the moment but I thought I would still share. Lemme know what you think so far.

I also have that kit from way back when!Had to have it!Thats my favorite movie of all time.
I also have the Vinyl Alien Queen in the same scale that I plan to have Ripley duking it out with. The only problem is that I dont really care for the Ripley fig.
Looks like I'll have to sculpt a better looking one myself.

Yeah, the ripley is poor in that kit but a bit of putty and a good paintjob will go towards a decent finish.
Still don't like the part where the tubes attach at the back way too flimsy and unrealistic.

Mine kit was missing most of the tubing(and had a bend wire mesh), so I will add AM mesh tubing for 1/24 scale cars.

Thanks guys! You are right about the Ripley fig, it's way off! I was thinking of resculpting here at one point. This'll be the first human fig I will attempt to paint so if I don't like it in the future I can always try to sculpt a new one and replace her since the cage bars will not be glued permanantly.

I have also thought about the hoses. First they are too shiny for my liking, a little too thick (not much) and I will definitely fabricate some sort of simple pneumatic couplers where the hoses connect.

I've already started painting the main parts, I'll post updates soon. Thanks again!

Is this the one you're talking about, Trowlfazz?

I'm using these pics for weathering reference minus the extremely rusted spots. Matter fo fact, I began weathering the loader today. I wish I had the chance to go see the exhibition loader myself! Although, I'd probably get in trouble trying to get into it! Clown [:o)]

Joe_I think it was but the exhibition had the loader "interacting" with the alien. Man! It's gotta be 20 years ago!

Alright, someone's being had.... because the Seattle Science Fiction Museum (bought annual membership last Spring) claims to have both the Loader and the Alien Queen originals from the movie permanently in their possession! hmmmmm.... Always something to keep me wondering....

Wow, normally I only visit Aircraft and chopper pages. But this model inspires to browse some futher. Awesome finish on the metal, great dirt and filth. Like the moisty way the filth has come drooping down the legs.
Looking forward to the result!

Well, here it is...finally! It took a while, mainly because my old camera broke and I had no way of getting pics up. Please let me know what you think, thanks!
