Hooray! My two Baton Rouge sample kits arrived today! I have to say I'm very pleased. The castings look great and so do the decals with markings to do one of three ships.

This picture is to give you an idea of the Baton Rouges scale. I've posed the BR's saucer with that of the PL Enterprise saucer and my Avenger saucer. All are 1/1000.

I made the master pattern for a resin kit and the producer of the kit sent me a couple sample kits of the product that will be available for sale in the near future.

Interesting, I was thinking about trying to create some masters, but I don't know where to start.

What did you sculpt it in? Do you cut it apart afterwards in order to cast from it?

My master patterns were made mostly of sheet styrene and acrylic. I made all the pieces as they would be cast. Nothing was cut apart. Wink [;)]

That's right it all started right here. Big Smile [:D] Thanks for the encouragement along the way.

Yup that is all thats left to do. I need to get off my duff and make some progress on my Marshall class so the Baton Rouge and Tritium class kits don't get lonely. Big Smile [:D]

Woah. That must've taken quite a bit of planing. I don't think I could get my head around how a model is going to go together while sculpting it.
