The studio scale viper ran me well over $150.00 and it was a great kit! but I sold it to a friend of mine in Washington state.

The Viper does have a cd with a bunch of pics and a seperate cockpit and an open canopy ands seperate pilot and console and two options of decals a used and weathered set and a new set plus decals for the helmet.

The viper had a base and an acrylic rod to support the viper, this thing is over 15 inches long and heavy! solid resin and in about 20 pieces!

the viper molds that jesse has are the old Icons molds which are also the 1st generation pyro.

You should be able to email jesse at Jestefarean@comcast.net

I hope this helps some

Check out this cool diorama of a Viper in a launch tube: http://squaremodels.netfirms.com/viper.htm

I'm waiting for Jesse Meyers' Viper to be re-stocked, but I believe he's re-working some stuff, including pilot options.

Well, there are always some on ebay:

eBay: Revell/Monogram Battlestar Galactica Colonial Viper

but, collectors really drive the price up...I would say it is worth about 15 bucks or so at a convention.

The old monogram kit had some fairly good exterior detail but nothing for the cockpit.  The canopy was solid plastic.  It also didn't have landing gear so I used a set of Galactica blueprints that I bought when the show came out and started the project.  Everything was going fine, I had the nose gear done and one main gear when I noticed that the other side didn't match.  I took a while to reverse the other side and get it done.  I had already scrapped the exterior engine and reworked it with wire and plastic so that there would be open areas where parts bend out and in or pass over other parts, ect.  I had to fake the cockpit due to lack of info at the time.

Anyone know where I can get another for a decient rice?

yeah that looks like Ranger 3 but the shuttle used in the later on in the Buck Rogers series was the shuttle used in BattleStar Galactica. you know the old boxey looking colonial shuttle.

On the workbench: Dragon 1/350 scale Ticonderoga class USS BunkerHill 1/720 scale Italeri USS Harry S. Truman 1/72 scale Encore Yak-6

I see Buck Roger's "Ranger 3" in the back ground of the galactica picture. it turned up in a later season repainted as a shuttle for the Searcher on BR. I beleive it was alo used as Terran (?) shuttle in the original Battle Star Galatica. I am I right on all this because I have always just assumed that same model was used in all three instances. I am certain both shows were produced by Glen A . Larson.

I remember well both the Colonial Viper and the Cylon Raiders, as well as the Battlestar Galactica and the Cylon Base Star models.

[

They were really cool designs with the inspiration of the Star Wars genre. I especially liked the Cylon Raiders.
Would love to get hold of those kits and build them again.

Another set of ship designs I really liked and would love to build again, though I abhorred the TV show, were the Space 1999 crafts.

While searching for "Monogram Battlestar Galactica" on Google, I came across this:

"Monogram's Colonial Viper kit, first released in 1978 and again in 1997, is surprisingly good"
-- John Lester "MMI's Colonial Viper Detail Sets"

Some additional articles at Studio-Scale Modeler:

Return of the Colonial Fighter
Resurrecting the Galactica

and one more article with nice pictures... Wink [;)]
