I saw it yesterday and It's been a long time since I've seen such a cast of relative unknowns gel so as to make a movie click in such a great way.

...a fantastic bit of fluff movie making with a fun, action-packed and clever screenplay.

I think it was much better than any of the Star Wars movies.

I think he meant "release of a model kit of the ship Serenity"... and the answer, as far as anyone knows, is No.... Black Eye [B)]

Jon,
Did you mean a model of the ship? If so, my sources indicate there is a good chance they will release a kit but no other info available. Probably a resin garage kit. Will post when I see anything solid.

Could be because they had worked together on 14 TV episodes. If you haven't seen the Firefly series yet, get out and buy/rent it. Gives you much more background into this crew and their mission(s).
It is also being shown on SciFi Channel on Friday nights.

Sorry for the confusion guys, I posted that in haste after coming back from seeing the movie. I WANT A KIT!!! My DVDs of the series should be here today. Good stuff!

G'dad,

Sadly, Uncle Sam has deemed it unnecessary to inform me of when I'm headed to flight school. I'm hoping to find out this week once the new budget is approved and everyone gets their funds allocated. They're telling me 6-12 months, but it could be sooner.

Wat are you going to be flying?  Judging from the picture I'd guess a copter.

Guy is working on a card model of the ship and it looks pretty good so far.

Could use the sheets and create the parts out of plastic.  With some modification, should work.

Good luck on your school.  Helicopters are great.  A very different was to fly.

Using the card sheets as a pattern to make plastic parts?  That's quite a challenge.  Good luck with it.  I'm not sure that I could do it.
