I buy mine from Maplins but they are also available from RS Components, Radio shack or in fact most places that sell electronic components

Where do you get your supply of white light leds? Great looking tank by the way.
Thanks for your help!

Don't forget that if working with LEDs you can reshape the clear part to fit the space available - just don't touch the junction (the gold coloured bits.)

in this model, I removed the WHOLE of the clear lens so that the LED would fit within the kit part for the side lights:

It does look cool. In the studio model itself there are spot lights that cast light over the name and number. I've seen several fantastic jobs of this on models using high intensity LED's positioned in the bridge (for top side) and sensor (for bottom side) so that they cast light toward that point of the saucer. It depends mostly on the scale of course, the bigger the kit the easier it is to work with the lights.

I have lit the interior fairly well, but the exterior is as dark as night. I love the scenes in the movies when they turn on the nameplate/number lights. How do you accomplish this? Anyone got any advice?
