My weekend X-wing(red handed)
Posted by ssgkopp on Sunday, November 13, 2005 11:46 AM

well i decided to knock out a x-wing this weekend    this is a fine molds 1/72  went together almost by itself   this is my first small scale attempt

this is what a pirate x wing would look like in my head   the star wars' own red baron

red was the base coat then i masked it off and covered everything in flat black

still have to go back and add some weathering

again i went away from the regular star wars theme and made my own

all thats really left is the droids decals and a dull coat

I like it...almost as if the Empire deployed it.....which they should have, because the Empire is the winning team! (even though they lost)

You might consider off-setting the stark blackness with, maybe, a very dark grey or mabye gunmetal for some of the interior paneling like inside the wings, the engine intakes, weapons and along the side of the forward fuselage etc. I think it would give it a good balance and it would highlight some of the models details. The all black tends to mask some of the detail. My 2 cents [2c] But, I do like the concept. I am pondering building a psi-corp black omega stary fury from b-5...

really i got the idea while doing a korean war A-26 in the black red scheme  i do like the gun metal idea i have thrown it around the last couple days so maybe

its hard to see but i did dry brush alot of the detail with oily steel  im getting ready to go over it with pastels lightely

thx for the comments

Have you tried ebay? There are usually ones on there all the time.
