I really really like this. I think i might do this with a Bird of Prey. Where the gun mounts remain a very nice silver metallic look. With the wings on the bottom in a dark red. I think it would look great.

I always did imagine the klingons to be a bit darker as in more evil kind of thing.

Yes that's the one. It doesn't have any graphics because in the book it says that the ship has no markings and is completly covered in a black micro coating. Technically the ship should be compleatly flat black but like I said that would be dull and look like a cheap cop-out in model bulding. So I took some artistic license by puttin the red lines on and painting in the details to give it that Black Widow look. The black widow was an early night fighter from WW II that actually had radar guided guns and was painted black. I guess it was the first stealth fighter. Looked like cross between a P-38 Lightening and a bomber.

Nice Ship, and different. You should have JT Graphics make you some special decals for that. I like the black color. Who needs a cloaking device when your ship looks cloaked already. Really Awesome.Cool [8D]

My Defiant Class U.S.S. Monitor
Posted by MartianGundamModeler on Thursday, December 22, 2005 3:26 PM

Now that I have a card reader I can start posting some of builds. This was my first non-canon build, the U.S.S. Monitor from the Williams Shatner book "The Return".The books describes it as being a Defiant class vessel possesing 3x the fire power of a Galaxie class, cloaking device, and a black micro coating that makes it have minimal sensor signature and makes it hard to spot in visiable light because it is all black with no markings. It's registry number is classified because she "does not exist". I took some artisic license in the markings and i had to paint some dails ot it would just look boring. I went for the P-61 Black Widow look with the red striping. She won First Place Science Fiction at Liberty Con back in May of this year. I have also constructed a tactical runabout in the same vein which I will post at a later time. Anyway here she is...
