Gundam Leopard Dio
Posted by MartianGundamModeler on Friday, January 6, 2006 11:03 AM

This Gundam won me senior division second place dioramas at AWA. It is from the series Gundam X, which I have never seen, which was a series before Gundam Wing. This is basicly the Gundam that the Gundam Heavy Arms from Gundam Wing, pays homage to. The color is Model Master Olive Drab (or Flat Dark Green hard to remember which can i used), with the legs being in Model Master Flat White. He was weathered with a combination of  Burnt Umber and Sable Brown acryic craft paint. The Martian Gundam Modeler finally gets to post his Gundams!LOL Comments are welcome. Enjoy!

(Edit: The pics were big so I made them links instead.)

CONGRATULATIONS!

Well done on a nice looking mini-dio!  How many were you up against?  Just curious as I have never been involved with a competition.

This year the competition wasn't a tough as usual. This year I beleiver there were only 6 other modelers each with multiple entries which was a disapointment.  This even included a beautiful resin figure og Sailor Mercury from the Sailor moon series. She got the big trophy but I can remeber what it was called. One of judgees  who teaches a class at the convention and who dispalys a lot of gundams and gundam dios had a house fire this year and lost all of his kits. :(  There were numerous other artitses in other media forms and from all over the world. Many come from Japan of course. Most media are paintings and digital art forms. Usually I'd say there are about 20 or more who are strictly Gundam modelers and then guys who model other animae but any kit or series can win.
