SPACE 1999 Eagles Galore

Terry here again,

just going to post some Pic's of my eagle collection,

Most of the gang here.

The Product Enterprises Die-cast offering repainted and decalled, the Moonbase Alpha markings look really bad. Most of the weathering was done with pastels and sealed with matt varnish.

This one was built over a period of about two years, it is an old comet kit in white metal and resin, its a really bad copy of the Airfix kit with a bad attempt at accurizing it.

This winch section is completely scratch built from plastic tubing and evergreen card.

This is the die-cast winch, personally I think the detail is lacking.

In this shot that is a really small eagle from the moonbase kit. I decided to use it as on the full size studio model they used an eagle lander from the airfix Saturn5 kit.

I hope you enjoy this nostalgia trip,

Regards,

Terry.

Very nice set, but looks like you took those pics on the dark side of the moon... Next time wait for sunrise?

Even with the minor detail lacking, they are still impressive. Wish polar lights or somebody would re-issue the old airfix kit with better detail.

I don't know about Polar lights givinig it a  hit, but the one released by comet about 3 years ago (or more) was excellent  as near to a real vehicle as possible,

this thing nearly flew. It was the basis for the Product enterprises model, which in my opinion is one of the most accurate representations around.

My one with the scratchbuilt winch pod is a couple of years old. There is a couple of gaps around the  cages as it was damaged at competition.

Regards,

Terry.
