Fine Molds Falcon FYI
Posted by Anonymous on Wednesday, January 11, 2006 1:18 AM

I just got my pre order Falcon and let me tell you, its everything everybody's been sayin and dim sum.  Worth the 25,500 yen.  Its like Sci-fi meets a Trumpeter aircraft/ Tamiya armor/ Hasegawa ship quality model all wrapped up in one.  First its got this huge box and when you open it up there these two 18x26 poster board sheets with large and small color photos of the studio model and the fine molds model.  I almost soiled myself. The instructions look like a manual for a dvd player.  No kiddin.  No Photo-etch though.  I would've liked that.  Maybe someone will finally tap into the market for detail sets for the Fine Molds kits.  Not that there's alot you could improve on, but the niche is certainly there. Its even got little Hans and Chewies, including Obi Wan, Leia, Luke and two Stormtroopers.  Simply put the kit begs to be built.  Course the challenge is gonna be lightin it. I don't mean to rub anything in guys I just had to share it with ya.   Anyone know if there's a Falcon group build? Lol.

sounds great.  i've got a few finemolds kits and i believe it's as good as you say it is.  though personally i doubt i'd ever build the thing.  it's not the price but such a large 1/72 scale model a) would be a real pain to store and keep from being attacked by cats or other house-hold wild-life and b) would take me years to finish since my quickest (real) build has up to this point been over one month long.

btw, the REAL challenge is having it make the kessel run in less than twelve parsecs.Laugh [(-D]
