if you can find cheap I really do recommend those photo-shoot lighting with the umbrella diffuser(?) thingy... also get some white background. Basically you need no flash directed to the model kits but bright enough to capture all the details...

crude method would be setup up some large BBQ aluminium foil plate hanging above the model with white background and use the flash unit that can be rotate to upwards - basically you bounce back the flash lighting to the model when you take the shot... you will need to get the model aligned such way to face the incoming light bounced back from the plate... will need to experiment to determine the proper distance and all of coz...

or get one of those portable studio they sell in Japan. It's fold -away type with everything you need except lighting/camera... :p

Alright Frosty.

Good to finally building some Sci-Fi.

Now, you are a full rounded modeler.
