Warhammer GB 06 - 4/1/2006-1/7/2007
Posted by archangel571 on Wednesday, March 29, 2006 8:41 PM

"Who's up for another round of warhammer 40k or fantasy building for this year?  There is no limit to what type of pieces you build.  So it can be a squad of guys, a single figure, a couple of armors/suits or other vehicles.  Build a whole new army if you feel like doing it.  It will run from  now till early next year in 07.  Opinions to make the GB more specific like 40K Armor or scratch build conversions are more than welcomed." -previous thread

I'm interested! I have a whole bunch of minis to paint, and maybe this year I'll actually get 'em done!

Put me down for at least one squad of chaos space marines.

Sweet, got the people count now.

For the end date i'd say i will set it at Jan. 7, 2007.  I tend to do that a lot since we will be busy doing other things (oh ... me and my trains =P) around the holidays, so that's more like the end of the year there a whole week later then we can all finish up.  Since it's a long time, multiple entries are of course more than welcomed.  Share the pictures and we can all have some fun.

You guys want the thread to stay here on this one or change to the GB section?

Sounds good to me. I also have some other projects going on (me and my gundams Tongue [:P]) so that will probably be fine as a end date, eventhough it seems kinda far off right now.

As for where the GB thread should be: It's fine either way for me. Dunno if the forum moderators have any opinions on it though.

Ryan's the one driving this ship, but I would expect like most GBs joining mid stride is not a problem. Add to that, we all have a year to complete the project.

Ryan, personally dont have a druther as far as whether it stays here or goes to GB thread.  However, it might be simpler to find it in GB as this is a year long and will probably get buried if we dont continually update.  Just my two cents Smile [:)]

Yup, join in anytime whenever you get the kits.  I will  have you on the list as "interested" that way you won't forget it either.

As far as the main thread is concerned I will just modify this one into it.  It's true that some low interest GBs [gah... which all happen to be my favorites..=( ] get driven back several pages in the GB section.  Thanks wolfp.

Alrite, kul.  You mean a sith like from Starwars???  (Oh, that question is not about the spelling.  I don't mind about the spelling much here.  Had been a newspaper editor and I still can't spell for nothing... LOL)

Well I hope you got enough info about Warhammer from my answers in that other thread of yours.  Otherwise you can always ask more here, and yeah, you won't really get the game unless you play a round or two.

Is it too late for me to join in?

I have so much unbuilt GW stuff it's not funny and this might just be the motivation that I need...

Must..NOT... let this GB fall onto the Eye of Terror, aka the 2nd page...

I had the extra free time this past Friday to watch a game at the local hobby shop.  That was pretty kul.  I had been only painting warhammer figures during the last 5 years (4 years in college) and never actually had a chance nor time for any games.  Think I will try to finish this IG army soon enough to play against a bunch of highschoolers there for the Medusa V thing this summer.

drew some plans last night for scratch building a baneblade or stormblade super heavy tank.  does anyone have good reference on these aside from what I could find on google?

Sorry, don't have any real reference material on any Warhammer 40k stuff.

Anyway.

I stripped the paint off some the parts for my Tyranide Carnifex (which is one of the tyranids I'm building, got a bunch of other semi-big figures too). Going to see if I can put a coat of primer on it this weekend or something and then maybe start painting. Got to scheck out some color scemes first though.

Well here's my progress so far.  Apologies for the poorly-lit pics... I need to pick up 2 of those lamps in the recent FSM.  Keeping the paint scheme simple so I can get through all the unpainted minis laying around.  I just like the liche purple!  These two still need their clear coat:

...and here's two more started:

Well, Just started on my monster.  Its the Land Raider.  Figured because there is so much time, I may go ahead and do an Eisenhorn figure also from Inquisitor.  I'll get pics once I have the interior painted.

Throw an armor boy a Imperium's Best and he gives you this in 2 nights:

Try to spot the small changes.

Everything that can be drilled... is drilled through!!

Extra Armor.  Relocated spot light, idea stolen from the golden daemon winner.  He had a nicer forge world turret to work with.

The exhaust got trimmed due to  my mis-calculation with the spare wheels.  One of the tool box on the turret is left half open to be filled in with crap later.

I couldn't let go of the external fuel tank like the manual had asked...

Next time I will widen up the depth of field a bit.

Got two more panel to fill with these ammo box tiedowns.  The idea is from the russian T-55.

Arms are not glued/sanded down yet.  The MG still needs a PE sight as well from some of my Tamiya scraps.

There are still some 40 percent more details to add but i will leave that to another weekend.

Hey welcome to the forum.  It's only a small group of people here on warhammer stuff but anything is better than nothing.  I will have you added to the list.

Also if you are looking for any 40k marine pieces, email me on that.  I got a decent dark angels army that I am still debating whether or not to give up.  They are mostly unpainted.

Heyas archangel,

I am pretty well stocked on miniatures for my army. I appreciate the offer though. The guys I use to game with dont play 40k much anymore, so they mostly sit on the shelves even though thats ok with me, I love the story behind 40k and the looks of the miniatures.

Got bored today and thought I'd sort out what I have and need for my dark angels deathwing army.  One thing I desparately just as many others needed are assault guns, and lots and lots of them.  Having a dreadnought weapon at Heavy 3 and fielding 2 per squad.  That makes an insane shooty army.  Anyways, I had some leftover wolf guard termi arms and decided to make some assault guns from scratch.

*Yea, I totally placed the gun upside down...  The barrels were styrene rods with the ends drilled out and the rest were from 030" styrene sheets.

I am torn between using that scratch piece and sculpt the rest using green stuff or just cut off the front part of the two heavy flamer arms I have and convert those into assault gun arms to minimize the sculpting.
