MAKING PANELS
Posted by fussionboy on Friday, April 7, 2006 5:25 PM

I thought i would throw this out into the modeling realm,  What would be the best method to reproduce the death star surface panel  from the amt star wars tie fighter set?  I was thinking a latex mold as I would like to make quite a few of these panels, my thinking is to make a wooden buck for a diorama and then cover it with these panels.  any ideas would be welcome,  thanks for your time.

I've seen it done a couple of ways. I'll have to find some links but one of the better ones I remember was actualy 4 different bases that could be used seperate or combined. If you work out the detail right you could come up with quite a few paterns out of the 4 plates depending how they are arranged.

Thanks for the input & the link, these are perfect!!!!,    As kind  of a mind scramble I wanted to build the trench from star wars and have Anakins jedi fighter followed by Vaders  tie fighter , and then possibly Lukes X-wing following Vader.  just something to make people go MMMMMM.
