Naboo Fighter
Posted by Anonymous on Monday, April 10, 2006 5:35 PM

I just picked up a 1:48 snapfit Naboo starfighter, and was planning on doing some scratchbuilding. Question for anyone who may know… does the N1 have landing gear? And if so where is it located? I think that I have seen pics with gear in the engine pods and a smaller skid to the back, but I have also seen a cutaway drawing with what looks like a pair of landing skids in the main fuselage on each side of the cockpit. Thanks for the input.

In looking at the Art of Star Wars book (Episode I), I don't see any indication of landing skids, but being the big fan of all these movies that I am, I know that there were skids on the Naboo fighters.  In fact all of the Naboo craft had pointed landing skids.  My recollection from the movies is that there were a pair of skids located on either side of the cockpit, and I believe you are correct regarding the smaller skid in the back.

Check out the opening of Episode II when the bomb explodes on the landing platform on Coruscant.  You can definitely see the skids on some of the shots of the escort fighters.
