It's a good premise, if they can find the right actors.

So long folks!

Sure you can, if you cast them as youths.

James Bond was recast. Dumbledore was recast. Though I will admit I miss Sean Connery and Richard Harris.

I wouldn't want to see the adult Spock or Kirk recast, but younger versions would work quite well, I think.

So long folks!

I would much rather see a full length Voyager movie. That would be cool.

Wasn't there a Voyager movie already? Now how about a movie  of "Enterprise"

To comment on recasting a younger Capt. Kirk & Mr. Spock... Well, if they could  do so with Capt. Picard, Giannan, Ensign Roe & Mrs. Miles O' Brien on TNG... Anything's possibleSmile,Wink, & Grin [swg]

Let's not mention recasting here on a model site!! Big Smile [:D]

My wife and I were hoping for a movie or series with the crew of the Titan. Unfortunately Frakes has apparently balooned up so much HE could double as the Titan itself! I just hope the writing on this new venture is above par.

You know, I'm pretty sure saying that in certain venues will get you phaser whipped.  Even I find that idea offensive.

This idea is too cool!  I hope they build  models instead of computer ships.

Sorry TANGO but Kirk was obsenely by the book in his youth.  He and Picard took opposite paths. Picard was reckless and nearly died, so he settled down a bit.  Kirk ended up in a situation where he had to throw away the book!  See where he ended up.  The Academy scenario has been quashed though.  I want a live action version of the Star Trek New Fronteir Books.  If you want to read some about Kirk, Spock, and McCoy in the 'Cad' try the Starfleet Academy kids books.  There are only 3, about 100pgs each, and the stories aren't bad.  I read them in high schoolEvil [}:)]

I dunno, it seems to me it will be like a star trek version of saved by the bell, I wish they'd go further with Riker on the Titan and what becomes of Data's twin and what not.

ilikespagetti-I read the novels and there are 3 books in the new Star Trek: Titan series so far.  They are some of the best ones.  They are #1 Taking Wing, #2 The Red King, and #3 Orion's Hounds.  Riker, Troi, Ogawa, Tuvok!, Leonard James Akaar, and Vale (tactical post-Worf) are out and about.  The most diverse crew in the fleet and totally off the wall.  I highly recomend them.

I can usually find a ST book to match any interest someone has.  I actually have a list I call "10 ST Books for the Non-ST fan" (technically 14 if you count)

Imzadi

New Fronteir Omnibus

Vendetta ("I am pain. I am loss. I am grief.  I am implacable, unstoppable.  I am passion made to fury, love twisted to hate.  I am Vendetta!"-fabulous line) -Planet killer + Borg + Revenge=Fasten your seatbelts!

Reunion

The Captain's Daughter

Antimatter

Seven of Nine

Daedalus (and Daedalus's Children)

Home is the Hunter

Doctor's Orders

(Four of those are by Peter David.  Lord, the man can write!)  Anyone what a specific crew or scenario or both?  I can find your book.

Thanks I'll check into that, but as for the movie, I don't really see what they can put in there for interest. I mean yeah, when they trash the bridge in the simulation room might be pretty cool again. But the one thing I hope they do put in this one is how Kirk went about reprogramming the simulation from Star Trek 2.

They never made a Voyager movie all it was, was 2 episodes back to back, Im talking about a theatrical release. I honestly dont see how a movie about kirk when he was younger could be very interesting. Dont get me wrong im a huge trek fan.

Thanks for clarifying this. I thought there had been but, was not sure.  come to think about it, in "The Cage" Kirk was pretty tame compared to later on when TOS began running... You could very well be right.  I too am a huge Trek fanApprove [^] as I think there's many here who are tooBig Smile [:D]

Yeah but I'm not too excited about the 15 minute musical score to show off the new training room that took up half the budget.

I've always been curious about the war with the Romulans during the 23rd Cent.  That could be very cool.  I've not found books on it. (I may have them, but not read them. They come out at 2 books a month for the last 20 years or so.  I buy as I find them [new or used] and read as time allows.)

cassibill, I think you're onto something thereThumbs Up [tup] at the time of the Romulan war, weren't we at war with the Klingons as well? (I'm thinking of Yesterday's Enterprise. The one where the "C" came into the future and returned  to battle the Romulans who were attacking a Klingon outpost)

That was the later one, also a good idea.  The Klingons and Romulans were sparing over their broken alliance when the Romulans went after Narendra III in 2344, about 70yrs after Kor mauled them at the Battle of Klatch D'Kel Brakt. The C stepped in and was lost defending the Klingons.  The Klingons were naturally impressed that a human could have such honor.  This lead to the later version of the Khitomer Accords.  "Yesterday's Enterprise" was what would have happened if the Federation hadn't cemented its alliance with the Empire so strongly (that and rumors said the Rom. to prisoners and displayed the C's hulk on Romulus).  That is why the Rommies attacked Khitomer with the help of Ja'rod, father of Duras later as revenge for the Accords.

The Romulan War of 2156 was the one I was talking about.  It is the one that happened right at the birth of the Federartion.  The Romulans tried to stop the Humans, Vulcans, Andorians, and Tellerites(the Fed.'s core four) from making alliance.  When Archer kept them from it, they attacked the humans.  The four banded together and founded the Fed.  The Romulans actually attacked Earth.  The Borg and Breen did later, but the destruction from the Rom/Earth war nearly destroyed both races.  The war ended in 2160 and the Fed. and the Academy were founded the next year.  It is what was skipped in the fast forward to the last ep. of Enterprise.

I'm such a Trekkie geek, it's sad. Photographic memory and next to every book and DVD on Trek don't mix. I only had to double check a couple of those dates and how to spell "Klach D'Kel Brakt (You'd think I'd have learned how to by now.  My dog's name is Kor. Had we taken his brother as well, he would have been Kang.Tongue [:P])". I actually edited it down.  I'm a history of the fictive future.

The Romulan problem has existed a long time and shows no sign of ending. That's why Section 31 has a long-term, deep-cover operative in the Tal Shiar.  Any other Trek history you interested in while I'm rambling?
