Congrats on your new baby that is coming. Get Him or Her started on Models or what ever you like right away. The wife will love you for it. And if you feel the need to cry,go into the bathroom and lock the door, that way the wife can't see your horemones kicking in.That always happens when the wife is pregnant, along with sympathy pains, and everything that goes with having a new baby.

I am real happy for you on the new baby,Congrats and Good Luck!Smile [:)]

It did make me a little weepy when she showed me it was finished, and she told me "Happy Birthday Dad". I looked at her and asked "what do you mean Happy Birthday"? and she said to me "I want you to have this as a present, and I love you",I said to Her,"Are you pulling my leg"? She said "no Dad,I really want you to have this as a gift",I got a little weepy and said "Thanks so much,it will be the cream of my crop, and I will display it proud on my shelf". Out of all my 150+ models I have built, this one is the most special to me because it was made with love in mind from my wonderful daughter.

A very nice project, Admiral.  Does your daughter do much model building?  Or was this "going out of her way to touch Daddy on his terms"?  Such a sweet girl either way, methinks.

This is her first model that she has built, and Yes she is very special to me,I value the gift of the Refit Very Much. Thanks for the kind words

It sure beats getting a tie for your birthday.  I feel kinda dumb though...I don't know what a mirror refit is (I am kinda new to all this).  Looks pretty good and I am sure that the time you spent together on it was something special.  Heck, when I was 15 I couldn't spend enough time away from home.  It's always nice to see young folk putting a model together, it seems not many have the patience anymore.  Good luck in  the contest.

Thanks so much for the kind words I appreciate it.My daughter helps me out sometimes with my models, and she wanted to do one of her own so she chose the Refit, she used some of my other models as a guide, and I did help her with some of it,but she did most of it,and she is proud of her work. I am proud of her and her very valuble gift to me.

My Daughter's Refit ISS Enterprise NCC-1701A

Hello I wanted to show everyone my 15 year old daughter's Refit, she wanted to make it a Mirror Universe Refit, and she would like to thank PNT Models for the Galactic Empire decals he made for this model, and they are available on the PNT Model site, she would like to also thank Mike Wolf for the detail decals he provided on Thomas Models Forum site in the Reference Section. My Daughter and myself hand-painted the aztecing on the Model, she assembled it and came up with the idea of using fiberglass rods to support the saucer with. She gave this model to me as a Birthday Present, and will enter it in the local Model Contest this next year. Here are the pics,Enjoy:

I know it may not be the best Refit out there, but I think my Daughter did a great job for her age,and it means the world to me since it was a birthday gift.
