Ploar Lights refit enterprise

fellow modelers,

I ahve come across reference for an internal frame for the kit mentioned above. at 1:350. This frame costs about 80 bucks. Is this necessary? Did Polar Lights make a kit which would droop?

This is for future reference, as I will need to order in the kit, lighting, etc into Taiwan and if this part is needed, than I will ahve to add this to my ever expanding wish list.

Never heard of one, but you might inquire over at Starship Modeler's forum(more traffic).

Actually there is one out there for around $80.. If you look over at SSM you might find the thread.. As for me, I have re-enforced all of my parts connections and hope that it will be enough to stop it from sagging..

She is pretty sturdy, but the frame would be a great buy if you plan on transporting it around alot.. I am actually going to work out a system where by I will be able to place a rod right down through the impulse crystal on the back of the saucer, down the neck, through the body, and end up being the stand, so that I will be able to remove the saucer from the neck and not glue it, and then be able to slide the body up off the stand for removal and packaging purposes..

The nacelles will be connected to the pylons, but not glued.. Again, for easy removal.. They way I was thinking, was use the crystal as the lid, and just pop the lid, loosen a screw, and away we go... It sounds easy, just havnt done it yet..

Chris
