Terminator 2 / Hunter Killer Tank scrap build in works
Posted by Anonymous on Thursday, June 8, 2006 3:35 PM

Hello I have been an on again off again reader of the mag for a few years. I now have the time to do models and am starting to get really into them.

I decided for my first project I would work on building a Terminator Future War Hunter Killer Tank from scrap. I had plenty of reference photos to work from. The main problem was the shape of the HK tank if a hard one to build. From scrap. So I decided I would use a card stock for the base then kit bash any parts that could not be made with card paper.

I started by using my skills at 3D design to work on a basic version of the model that is not really detailed and put it together to see how well the tank would build using card stock to build it before working on building a more high detail version.

You can see my work in progress so far at this link

Let me know what you guys think so far :)

Welcome to the forum. Way to kick it off with your choice of scratch builds. I've always liked the HK's and keep making plans to build one myself. Awesome start and keep those pics coming.

Thanks man for the link :) but already know about it :) got two T-800 endos that this tank is to scale with from the site already. I also tracked down a really detailed HK tank model in 3D model format online that I will be converting some parts of to build format once I am done building this sample test HK tank model. so far I am fining that to build a basic frame of the HK it is extremly easy. esp if you break the parts down into small more manageable parts.

That's some great work there. The Terminator series is one of my favorites, looks like this is shaping up to be an amazing project.

Wait a minute, your name seems awfully familiar...

Hey! Didn't you use to post on the Gamegossip.com/AVPNews forums?
