i'm considering doing a scratch-build project of Gato from Chrono Trigger.  That is, this fellow:

anyone interested in this build?  i'd post notes and progress pictures to keep myself on track.

Seriously, people, no one's played Chrono Trigger?  No one wants to see something like this built from scratch?  This forum depresses the crap out of me sometimes.

haha, i know my old roommate used to play chrono trigger... but most of the guys here are star trek/star wars/babylon 5/BSG etc. etc. fans.  I am sure if you post your build pics we'll give ya lots of support~

What material do you plan to use for the project?  Fully sculpt one?

What scale and material do you want to make this out of.

the scale is about 1/35 but of course it's hard to tell how big Gato actually is so it's only approximate.  im not sure what i'll make the actual thing out of just yet.  I'll make what i can out of styrene sheet and tubing but i'm sure some parts will have to be cast in resin or metal or bent and soldered in brass.  the body is a large symmetrical piee so i made a prototype out of balsa sections and will smooth it out with putty of some sort to make a prototype for vacuforming or making a mold.
