Thanks, I did take a look at all the submission guidelines plus the guidelines for digital photos so I think I'm OK on that.  My camera is a 5.3 megapixel camera thats "semi-pro".  Its got full auto point and shoot modes plus lots of manual settings I can tweak as well.

Here's a teaser pic of the finished model...http://mysite.verizon.net/johndavidcook/id1.html

Click on the top pic for a full size view, its kinda big. ;-)

Thanks,

They post information on submissions here!

So long folks!

Light up article for FSM?
Posted by Madman Lighting on Tuesday, July 4, 2006 2:44 PM

Hope I'm in the right place to ask this question.

I'm writing an article on how I did the electronics and fiber optics for a Polar Lights NX-01 Enterprise and want to submit it for publication in FSM.  Just that takes up about 12 pages.  I have lots of high-res digital pics of the project as it went along and there will be lots of illustrations on where parts go.  I'm leaving off most of the painting and finishing details because that would double the article size and there's some issues there.  (I messed up my first metalic paint job a bit)  I just have a couple questions:

Is FSM interested in an article that focuses mostly on electroncs and lighting?

and...

I invented a product along the way that makes lighting with LEDs much much easier so some folks might consider such an article a bit of a shameless plug.  Thats not the intent, most of the article is on what color lights to use where, how to mount them, and how to hookup all the fiber optics.

O yea, I'm the guy who got published in Modeler's Resource issue #61 on how to light up a Deep Space 9 with LEDs and fiber optics so this isnt my first attempt at publication.

Thanks in advance
