Enterprise D windows?

I am still **sigh** building the old ERTL fiberoptic Enterprise D. I drilled out the windows for lighting. I like the way the model looks, but would love to fill the window holes with something transparent. Someone suggested testors clear model cement. Anyone have any ideas? I am trying to get rid of that "look right into the saucer section" effect.

Can you get Humbrol products where you are?, if so maybe have a look at their Clearfix.

You can either use it as a glue to stick canopies on, or to make small windows.
