Fish-Head Aric, there is also a couple of Tamiya 1/20 Grand Prix Crew Sets out there that are perfect for MaK dioramas.  You can usually find them on ebay for ~$20, and they have several figures plus miscellaneous equipment.

Fish-Head Aric, Ive got a small and growing collection of 1/20 scale WWII toys from walmart toy aisle, a little repaint to make them blend in better and they shoul be fine. Nice sculpt on the face, some come with weapons, the WWII Panzer commander definitely has potential andcomes with a nice SMG to hang behind him in the cabin! :-)

PatllaborUnit1,

I sent you an e-mail.  Thanks for the comments.  I am looking for general purpose people figures to go with my "Wasting Away" build project.  It will be a Gans in damaged, abandoned, rusting away condition, and if I can come up with some 1/20 figures curiously exploring the wreckage, would be very cool.

Was this an original Nitto boxing (SF3D?) If so its definitely a better fig than the lumps that originally came.  I just scored another PKA HO last night, no teling what THAT one will turn into :-)

Thanks for the replies guys.  Actually, the figure is the one that came with the kit.  At first it didn't look like much (detail was a little soft), but after some paint and washes the little dude wasn't so bad afterall.

Nice display.  Good to see Ma.K things as I am contemplating how to do up my "wasting away" Gans.

That guy inside definitely looks like he's legit WWII stuff, what with the flight jacket and such.  Looks like someone right out of the old "Ba Ba Black Sheep" series.  Interesting cotrast between "future-tech" and vintage military.

I am interested in getting figures for 1/20 scale... anyone know where to land these sorts of guys?

ooooh... and what brand of tuna was that?  It does matter, right?  Cool [8D]

Ponch

your build came out great, problems aside (I've done it too!)  the camo looks great. what figure did you use for the kit? that isnt stock is it? I have some of those 1/20 WWII toys that would look good inside of one of these suits, may have to use one in my Karl.

thanks for sharing, and great photos!!

Finished Nitto Gustav
Posted by ponch on Tuesday, August 1, 2006 12:16 AM

Hi all,

This is my Nitto Gustav, finished pretty much OOB, with the exception of putty joint covers and some bullet damage in the left shoulder guard.   It's a nice little kit, but there were a couple of decals that silvered (although I gave the model a coat of Future beforehand).  However, the biggest faux-pas is that I actually assembled the legs backwards!!!!  The left leg was glued in the right socket and viceversa!!! DOH!!!  Black Eye [B)]  Because of this I had to improvise sockets for the power hoses in the 'calves', as the real sockets were now in the inside of the legs.  Talk about spacing out...

The base is an inverted tuna can painted with textured spray can paint.

Hope you like it Tongue [:P]
