Star Destroyer Update (and final pics)
Posted by maxx1969 on Wednesday, August 2, 2006 10:45 PM
Here are some new pics of the #2 and #3  24 inch Star Destroyers on the bench right now.  I was able to brake this down into several molds this time rather then scratching the same or mirror object over and over.
Here are the resin engine array parts:
The pic only shows 23 of the 25 resin parts that make it up so far.

The rest of the pics are here

After the lighting is in I'll update the progress with new pics.

Confused [%-)] 36 inches = 3 feet. Sure its going to be a big model but the details will be so tiny like in thousands of parts and alot of eyestrain plus lotsa CA  and almost a mile of wire in that beast to light up a room with all the LED's that are going to be in it. Now to be able to light up a room with a LED equipped model now that should be NirvanaBig Smile [:D]

Oh yeah? well, on the starship builder forum, me and a couple of others are going to do a group build on a half scale SSD! its supposed to be 4.5 ft 1.5 ft wide and 6.5 inches deep, maybe we should get together on this? PM me for details.

Yeah I read that over there. Seems to be alot of debate over the actual size though. Its only about 3 to 6 inches from one reference to another.  If I ever build one of these for myself I would love to bump it up to around 5' long. Don't ask me why I just like the sound of that. But then I keep hoping someone will want a true studio scale Avenger class too. Now that would be a fun build and talk about lighting up a room lol.

Well, we are trying to get started on this stuff, an avenger would be keen but the victory class would be fun too!

i forgot you are on the forum too.

hmm a victory class would seem interesting would you want to do a Victory I class or a Victory II class. Plus it would be interesting to see what the fuselage strakes would look like in a larger scale since those strakes give the Victory Class a X shaped front and rear profile.

A class 1 would be easier to build than a class 2 I really dont care for the x shape, or does it swing open in the atmosphere? i just like the bridge and stuff with all of the radar and the smallness appeals to me.

They take anywhere from 400 to 500 hours aprox.

Stipp,
Yeah thats the only thing that bugged me when I first signed up on here. It wouldn't let me use Max ZephyrSad [:(]  I could do it now most likely but then I'd start all over lol.
