Randy Bowen vinly KING KONG
Posted by Anonymous on Thursday, August 17, 2006 8:32 PM

Hello all,

a few years ago I bought 2 vinly K.Kong kits from Darkhorse.com, great detail and really captured the " look" of O'Briens origional masterpiece. However  putting it together is proving difficult to say the least.  I know you can " reshape" vinly to its origional shape with hot water, or a hair drier-but neither one has worked! Putting the " torso" to the legs is a nightmare, as well as the 2 arms, hell the whole kit!! Any resin heads out there that can help?

Thanks,

Bryan

Did you shock them in cold water right after? I know where you're comming from with the vinyl kits, I have one of the T-800 endoskull and Boba Fett, the stuff is so much of a pain to work with it made me lose all hope of a nice final result.

No I didn't, haven't heard of that before, should give it a try. I would like to make them my self, but might have to send them to a person with experience with vinly kits. Very frustrating, I wish they produced them in resin, be a lot easier. How did your Terminator, and B Fett come out?

Ummmmm they didn't.......I got too frustrated, too many warps in the t800 and boba, I got his helmet painted. He holds a gun out in front of him with both hands but I'd get the shoulders to fit right and the arms themselves looked right but didnt meet up the way they were supposed to. I pretty much gave up and looked for resin kits. Then decided to just make a boba fett costum instead.
