Revell millenium Falcon (finally Finished the weathering)

Hey Executer the kit was only released by Revell Germany last month. Its a completely new kit. Its smaller than the AMT kit from yonks ago. its prepainted and only consists of about 55 bits. as for cost I've seen three prices here in Dublin. €33 to €39.99 so thats about $50 something dollars. In the range is also an x-wing advanced tie fighter and Tydirium shuttle, as far as I know they are not for release in the USA, European thing only but STARSHIPMODELLER.com is selling them in the US.

That gun was replaced after a direct hit from a Tie Fighter.  That whats great with science fiction models .... you can always come up with a good reason.

That is a wonderfull job of weathering.  I have the same kit on my shelf which I made when I was a lot younger and I planned to weather it some day.  You did inspiring work.  Thanks for sharing.

Thanks guys for the kind words, to answer all 1. i'd rekon on about 40 hours all told. I think for an episode iv falcon the kit is a little dark so I' hoping to get another one this week and do an all out paint jod and have it posted mid november

I believe I've heard that explained away as simply residue that has flowed down from the "vents" as the Falcon sits stationary in an atmosphere with gravity, rather than "smoke trails" blown back while in flight. That would certainly explain the pattern as depicted (and it is certainly depicted exactly like this in the films).

IMHO, what i found slightly awkward are those exhaust vent smoke trails...  they are fanning out.  but if you picture a ship going forward, the smoke is being blown straight back parallel to the ship's mid axis.  and also the defense gun screen looks very contrastingly clean in the pictures.
