Cylon Raider -- New Series
Posted by rossjr on Thursday, October 19, 2006 10:49 PM

This is the Fantastic Plastic 1/48th scale Cylon Raider from the New Battlestar Galactica series on the Sci-Fi Channel.  After multiple attempts I gave up trying to do the shading of panels on this kit.  I was just never satisfied with the contrast, it was usually too much.  Instead I opted for an all Titanium version w/some accents.  I just need to build a base for it...

Enjoy!

Looks great, John!  Definite WonderFest award winner, IMNSHO.  I've got the 1/72 scale version of the kit and hope I can do have as good whenever I get around to building it.

As for bases, check out The Model Base.  They recently added a Cylon Emblem base to their lineup.

Man... The paint finish on that raider is just sweet.. I think the lines of the ship break it up enough to not warrant any panelling!..  Great job..

Beautiful job, love the color(what is it, by the way). I have the studio scale one waiting on the pile.

The overall color is Model Masters Metalizer Titanium.  I played around with using different shades of grey to try and better match some of the screen captures I had but I was never satisfied.  So I tried this, liked it and stuck with it...
