dnatech is right on the DVD's. I have the first season. Only works for nostalgia, the show really stinks. I also have the reissue and the 12" multimedia kit and a 22" multimedia kit. If you go for the multimedia kits, be prepared to spend a lot (and I mean a lot) of time cleaning up metal and resin pieces. I started both and have pretty much given up. I bought some brass tubing to scratchbuild my own framework because I think that would be easier that cleaning the metal parts. The plastic kits are horribly inacurate, even with conversions.

Well, it IS studio scale!

Scratchbuilding wasn't one of my strengths until I practised!

Alternatively, you could scratchbuild your own...

It only cost me £200 for the parts!

I remember those kits, they were my first mecha kits. I still have a bunch of them badly built in an old paper box. Which ones do you have?

I thought I'd seen it a couple of times on the Sci-Fi channel on one of their marathon weekends, otherwise check out your local video store you might be able to rent a few DVD's. I bought a couple sets at Best Buy so I could get some good reference shots. I especially wanted to get the episode "War Games".

Speaking o' Hawks, found one at a local shop the other day. 7,000 yen! That's about 60 bux US. Is that expensive?
Was the company FunDimensions back then? I think that's what was on the box.
I'll check it again!

If I'm not mistaken the Hawk kit molds were either lost or damaged. The Airfix Orion was a completely different tooling than the Aurora kit as well.

They must be due for a reissue soon.

I think both of these were licensed from the same molds that AMT/Ertl owned, similar to the Orion Shuttle that Aurora had at one time, so unless they bought the molds or re-licensed them from AMT/Ertl I am not sure you will see the Airfix reissue. The Hawk especially, I was really disappointed that Ertl reissued the moonbase model and not the Hawk. Sad [:(]

The resissue is the same kit that was available back in the 70's and 80's. I have and have built both. I also bought James Small's authentication kit for it but haven't used it yet. Federation also has another larger multi-media kit available.

Sorry for the dust and this one was straight from the box......

Careful! Those kits are very inacurrate.(as in , not even close) However to get an accurate kit you have to work. I bought Warp's 1 foot multimedia kit and another 2 foot multimedia kit. these are very primative and you can expect to spend a lot (a real lot) of time cleaning up cast metal and resin parts. I started to clean up just the metal parts and got sick of it enough to buy brass tubing to construct my own framework.

Hi, memeau!
It's a pretty straightforward build out of the box.
If you want it accurate, weeelll, that's another story!
Wasn't there a good article in FSM about that in the last year or so?
Was that the AMT/Ertl re-release, or the smaller Arii release?
I'll dig through my back issues.

He's right. It was reissued while I was stationed in NJ so it would have been about 1999-2000. I remember them going for $9.99 in the Toys R Us. They went quickly.

There was a reissue in the near past so I would suggest Ebay or some of the online resin oriented stores like Federation Models.

Looking for info on an Eagle Transport kit from the above series. Anyone know where a kit could be obtained or if there may be a reissue in the near future?
