I finished my first W40K Termagaunts

First miniatures I ever painted. I learned a little late what a side-cutter was. Also, the mold halves didn't line up. Some of that flash isn't flash.  The model is about 2 1/2" long.  The heads are about the side of a large peanut.

Here's one...

The rest are here:

looks great Antinice!  I've always liked these models but have yet to build one. and the colors are great.  are they easy to build?  did you the Warhammer paints?

W40K stresses painting and modding.  The models are simple to build if you don't mod them.  The termagaunts above are 2 piece models and except for some fit issues, went together instantly.

I used GW paints but any high-quality acrylic should do.

excuse my ignorance, but what is "modding"?

modding = modification.   The more skilled 40Kers will get several models and cut them up to create a unique model with exactly the attributes they are looking for.   For example, a modeler might get a Space Marine commander, remove the arms, add arms from another kit, add a weapon from yet another, and fabricate additional features using a sculpting clay such as "green stuff."

Here's an example.

The starting point was a kit that should have created something like this:

But it became this:

The organic bits are all sculpted.  The tubes were from something else.

Very cool, I've wanted to do some 40K models, but havn't had the money to get into it yet. I have been reading a lot of the books though.

I have a co worker who does this on a regular basis. He has enough of these little kits built to make up what would be a modern day infantry division.

So it seems that no matter what the subject we are all a little bit on the obsessive side.

Looks Great!  I was just recently introduced to the line of models, but have been using War Hammer paints for a couple of years now.  They are excellent for armour models for weathering etc. Keep up the good work.
