That project will be impresive, PLEASE keep us informed on this project.

Hope to do the Cylon fighter some time in the future to have the "pair" of the series, it will be also in 1/24 scale also.

I've always been a fan of the Viper.  That is A-1 in my book, you've done a seriously beautiful rendition. So, any plans for a companion Cylon Raider? ;)

THANKS!!!!  to all my fellow modellers for the kind words on  my Viper model, they are very appreciated.

The model was made using "plans" that appear in a old japanese model magazine( I think it was HOBBY JAPAN but not sure) that a friend of mine had, this where at the time the most accurate line drawings that I came accross for this project, also looking at the actual TV series was very helpful. Later theres was an article on the British magazine SCI-FI AND FANTASY MODELS(have these two) on the actual props and miniatures of the series using vintage production photos and preserved models.......by the way they also made a special issue on SPACE 1999 with GREAT photos of the diferent EAGLES of Moon base, thats another project that I plan to do some time in the future.

For scale "control" I used a Monogram NASCAR driver that came in some of the racing car kits in 1/24 scale, the figure ia seated and desing for a cramped quarters so it worked perfectly as a B.G. Viper pilot, in fact is easier to make the uniform and helmet from Epoxy putty using one of this figures than a resin one, I have made the modification and uniform to mine but can't find it in my workbench!!!!

Again THANKS for all the comments.

Welcome to boards Plasticbender.

Now for starters throw 100% accurate out the window dude. In fact after you do go outside and run over it a couple of times with the lawn mower. What you have there is one fine example of scratch building! Keep sharing that awesome work with us please.

Very nice Viper, Bender! If not perfect, then very, very close. I liked the detail you put into the engines!

Did you work from plans or wing it?

Sci-fi isn't really my thing, but I grew up watching Battlestar Galactica and as a fellow modeler I have to say that your Viper rocks! Thanks, I enjoyed looking!

Here is the link to my FOTKI page where this project is located, it's a project started a very, very long time ago but still it have a special part in my unfinished project table. This model is not perfect and 100% accurate in some minor details but this is because I wish to add some more detail and "look" to the project. Theres some pieces that where constructed but never installed in the model lake the laser guns and the back plate in the engine exaust area........but that will change very soon!!

Hope you like it, it's one of my favorite spaceships of all time.
