1/100 MS-06Z Psycommu System Zaku - 90% completion
Posted by dj898 on Saturday, November 25, 2006 5:18 PM

I've always interetesed in those MSV, especially Zeon One Year War MSV and this MS-06Z along with MSN-01 is one of my favourite. This particular model isn't well known unlike MSN-01 Psycommu System Zaku thouh both models were released in 1/144 scale years ago.

This model is pre-cursor of Zaong. After only three test MS were built this one was scrapped replaced by MSN-001 before finally moved to Zeong. You can read more in details on wikipedia or mahq.net if you want to know more about this one.

As I mentioned only 1/144 scale injection kits were ever released but given Bandai's track record I'd say it'd bemore practical to wait for pig fly than they release it in 1/100 scale. ^__^

I haven't even seen any resin kit sold at JAF-CON. Maybe it reallt is that unpopular...

Anyhow.. To build it in 1/100 scale I'd need several components from verious kits to use as the base for the modification. The most obvious would be its arms. It's the same one as Zeong along with the chest section. For leg and skirts I believe Gelgoog parts are what I need. If you look carefully you will see they sort of look similar to Gelgoog in profile. And I will need to modify Zaku head...

 ---

And here are what I've done so far. I still need Gelgoog parts to modify and till I find junk one this project will have to wait...

Hi DJ

I have the one in your last pic, with the big landing gear/ feet units onthe bottom in the old ungraded 1/144 scale and frankly I have been afraid to build the damned thig because of all that sanding. You know how bad those old kits were to begin with, compond it for the thrusters and verniers and landing claws.

Im interested in the machine gun/ fingers, how did you creat those? they look like they are articulated the way  they are shown in the pics.
looks good so far, I would be interested in seeing more progress, thanks for sharing

Hands are junk Zeong hands from my junk box and I put the pla-plate around the arm unit and a piece of plastic rod at each corner. Those tiny vernier are from Kotobukiya's option set - I have box full of those stuff in my junk box which I've been building/collecting for more than a decade... ^__^

My motto is unless absolutenly necessary I'd like to use the kit parts as much as possible.

I need to get more of those verniers and such, every time I go up to HLJ they are sold out of them... I like having options :-)

I am slowly amassing my MS stuff, I have tons and tons of helicotper stuff, but the Gundam accessories are slow in coming, mainly due to all the mail order when stuff is in stock--and I have spare cash! :-)

Keep the progress pics coming, its good stuff!

And here are what I've done so far before 2006 ends.

Let's hope that I can find time to finish this bad boy in 2007...
