Just got my Viper kit in the mail today. (expensive so don't ask) :) Has anyone seen or done a pilot for the Revellogram kit? I'd like to try to build a cockpit for the Viper and replace the black canopy panels for clear. Am I in over my head? Any experience would be helpful. Where to buy, what to use that sort of stuff... Thanks all! Bob

I highly recommend the Viper cockpit. MMI also makes landing gear (expensive), a launch rail, seated and standing male and female pilots. I've got the cockpit and seated male pilot (can be right or left handed to represent Apollo or Starbuck). Someone also does multi colored Viper stripes to do something beyond the normal red-orange.

The Photo etched canopy framing is really nice.

Hi, fellas!
And how long would a Galactica in the same scale be?
I'm rotten at math!

In scale with the Viper? Something on the order of 165 feet (50 meters) or so. I remember it being noted as being about a mile long when the series was originally released.

Yup, a mile, supposedly. Saw on a "scale" site that it's quite debatable, from 680 meters to 12 miles! I'm pretty sure I remember someone in the show saying it was a mile, though...even though they didn't use imperial measurements!
So, about 50 meters? Well, let's get busy!!

On the issue of you needing to build a cockpit for your model, go pick up a book called "How to Build Spaceships Models" by Klambach publishing. Any decent sized hoby store should have it or can get it for you. They have a cevtion on the BSG series and theyshow you how to build a cockpit for the viper.

thanks for the tips fellas! Federation out of stock!! :( How about this instead; Galactica 1990 (?) They get here and find a willing partner in the USA and start helping each other out!? A "stealth viper" maybe? US markings? Area 51? What do you think? If I can't doll up the inside how about the outside? Just a thought, maybe.....

Hey Bob, new guy here, I feel you on the "out of stock" Sucks. I sent an e-mail a month ago to Federation as to any info on when the sitch might change. No answer yet. But darnit I know there has got to be another way or place to get those detail upgrades. I ran across an upgrade kit for the B.S.G. but my e-bay snipin skills unfortunately weren't quite honed enough yet and I lost. Anyone know where to track them down. As for the Viper Bob, I'll keep looking and let you know what or if I find anything. Sincerely T.L.

p.s. Ive got a B.S.G., Cyclon B.S., 2 vipers and 2 cylons. I'm willing to part with one of the raiders if you know anyone interested.
