HALO Has anyone ever built anything from the game or books?

Precious little I'm afraid, though this is unfortunate.  I've seen a Master Chief scratchbuild/sculpt once.  And somewhere on the HBO (halosm.bungie.org, not the cable network) one of the guys who has done substantial analysis of the game maps vs. the actual objects, e.g. that a large fraction of the combat done by the Master Chief when 'on' the Pillar of Autumn actually takes place outside of the 'Pillar, started a massive Pillar of Autumn scratchbuild, but at least on the website, was never completed.

I, myself, have a strong desire in scratchbuilding a Warthog & Pelican in the same scale but I've since found some schematics that indicates that a Pelican is a fairly large aircraft (drop ship?), and even in 1/72 has something like a 24" wing span.  I have occasionally thought about just scratchbuilding a 1/35 scale Warthog, but this was put on the back burner compared to some other projects.  And if I can find some decent orthogonal renders, I'd love to build a Covenant Phantom, but as is usually the case with these things, about the time I find decent reference material, the subject has become 'moribund.'

One would think since it's a big hit upon gamers someone would at least start manufacturing some of the equipment in the game (And soon the Movie), like I said before I've seen the figurines that Joyride has produced but they are more of the toy type items not for really the true modeler to build, maybe some day they'll get off of their cans and start making cool stuff that is in the Sci-Fi games

If it's any help, there is a forum that I belong to, where we routinely build stuff that is seen in movies, TV shows and video games.  Right now, we have an active project designing and building a 1:1 Assault Rifle from Halo 2.  In the past, we've built the Battle rifle from Halo 1 as well as the M6C and M6D pistols.  We have built Spartan armor as well.

correct me if im wrong, but I dont believe there is a battle rifle in halo 1 nor is there an assult rifle in halo 2

The assault rifle in Halo 1 was a semi auto sub machine gun that really wasnt worth its weight. people just used the pistol. In halo 2 they upgraded the main rifle giving it more accuracy and stopping power, Giving birth to the Halo 2 battle rifle, meanwhile nerfing the heck out of the pistol to where it was only worth it as a weapon when being dual wealded. especially after the online gameplay update where the damage from the pistol was nerfed even more by making only head shots really count damage wise. The Halo 2 battle rifle has been seen as a new incarnation of the pistol from Halo 1 and there have been cries far and wide that its damage potential needs to be fixed before Halo 3 comes out as to balance out gameplay.
