Advice needed on the 1/350 scale PL Enterprise Refit.- How do I light this thing?

Hey everyone. Name is Sean, and I'm new to the FSM forums. Been building models for a few years now and decided to tackle what many consider to be the Holy Grail of sci-fi models, the Polar Lights 1/350 scale Enterprise Refit. I was able to acquire one at a reasonable price from a listing on eBay and I'm currently waiting for it to arrive. *darn snail mail!* I've got a fairly good idea about how to paint the dreaded Aztec paneling, so I should have no problems there.

My question to the other members of the forum.....How do I go about wiring this kit for lights? This kit is simply too awesome not to have lights. Does anyone have wiring schematics and materials lists they would be willing to share?

First, WELCOME!

Second, you've got you a great kit there.  This is the model of choice for Trek fans right now.

If I had known how kick a$$ it is I would have gotten it before starting my Enterprise A from AMT.

I want suggest that you go over to stashipmodeler.net for any advice you might possibly need regarding accurizing, lighting and everything else you could imagine.

here's a great link:

One of things I definitely want to advise you on is to get every aftermarket part available for any Trek model you build.

EDIT: I almost forgot.  There are plenty of free Aztecking decals available there as well.  There is a set available specicifically for the color detail of the PL Refit and there are ones that were made for the AMT version which 1/537 as opposed to your 1/350 PL.  You can use these as well, you just need to adjust the size in Photoshop in print with preview.  Practice on plain paper first.  If you can't track them down (they are actually at the .com version of the site), let me know and I will email you a copy.
