Thanks, for that.I posted the heads up,on SSM modeler,to inform everyone, from the novice modeler,to people like me,who have been building, for years of this problem, even though I had no intention of using the tubing, but what about a beginning modeler, who may be satisfied, with the vinyl tubing?I was attacked and accused,of having a hidden agenda?,what agenda?,I was just trying to pass on info,to my fellow modelers, and that was all, until I was accused of dissing,Federation Models, for reasons the posters, didn't have the guts,to enlighten me,but just to lash out,at me.I clearly stated I would never post on SSM,again, and I won't.I like to build, not get into rants,on modeling sites, where half of the time, people don't read the original post,to start with,I thought we were a brotherhood, that is slowly fading away, due to pre-painted,die-casts.I am over this to a certain extent, because of lessons I learned many years ago, good news travels fast, but bad news travels even faster.I feel we are here to help each other,no matter what you build, not to get off topic,or get into a debate.I honestly thought, that my post would have been appreciated, but I guess that is what I get for thinking.    Thanks, guys, and this is not directed at my post,on Fine scale modeler,as it seems people are more, open minded here. Thanks again,it matters.

dont let em walk over you, find the maker of the model and contact them. and keep contacting them, even give the store site a bad rating or review online.
In a since it is their fault as well, they are selling a product they have faith in. They should eat the cost and then go after the actual model maker.
Look at it this way
If i was to go to my hobbyshop and open a box with an entire sprue missing. I'd take it back to the store. The store would take it back and replace my model. They in turn would contact the manufacturer and send it back. and probably replace their inventory of models of that SKU#.
dont give up
good luck!!

In all fairness,to Federation,it was the kit makers mistake. The bag that held the photo-etched part, decals, and the colored dome for the rotating beacon were there, along with the tubing, and was factory sealed, they just didn't include enough tubing. This is the original halcyon mold, and I am sure Federation, would have given me a full refund minus shipping, but I wanted the kit.I know it seemed trivial over the tubing, but I have had problems with E-Bay,and other on-line stores, and was fed up,when they are more than happy to take your credit card number.I was angered by the same old"take what you got,and be happy attitude",I get when I get screwed on-line.I never was going to use the tubing on the model anyway, but if I keep letting these "trivial"things slide,I am going to end up buying an emty box, with decals included! lol!

thanks for the heads up.

usually if an injected model from AMT or Revell is missing parts or is damaged, they say to return it to the place you bought it from for a refund or replacement. maybe this is what your retailer SHOULD have offered.

luckily i have an original halycon release.

I agree!  Don't let this incident make you give up something that you enjoy doing.  I have been building since the mid 50s and have had numerous things go wrong along the way but I kept going even if I had to take a break once in a while.  I'm partly disabled from when I was in too, and this is one of the only ways I have left to relax

Anyway,

Why let someone talk you out of doing your hobby?  If you love it keep going.  Find some other project to work on.  Maybe go back to it later and collect some tubing from a hobbyshop or hardware store.  If you don't want to mess with it again, just put it away for a possible future return or even as spare parts for a scratch building project.  I have done this several times.  With a little imagination you might be surprised where the parts could be used.  It might take years but what the heck.

If you love the hobby, stick with it. I have a family and hobby money is always at the bottom of the list of needs. Don't let this kit be an anchor around your neck. Take heart in the fact that ,you are right. You should get what you pay for and a llegitimate business should stand behind what they sell. It you find satisfaction with this hobby, then don't give it up! Wink [;)]

Thanks,David,I respect the way you think,I got slammed on Starship modelers forum, over this.I am 43,and have been building, since childhood.I too have learned the pros and cons of resin kits, but when I buy an injection molded kit, most of the time, all parts are there and undamaged,of course there are exceptions, but few.I had an @#$#@$% on Starship modeler, tell me,due to my fixed income, from being disabled by war, that maybe modeling was too expensive,of a hobby for me,so I am going to heed his advice, sell off my prized builds, and never touch a model again!Anyone want to buy a power loader, brand new, minus tubing, cheap!

I understand your situation, and how you are feeling. actually anyone who has ever purchased a kit from an oline retailer just to find out that it was a repop (recast) feels like they just got screwed, even if the thing was only forty bux or so.... I have recieved several resin figs from online sources and have come to learn that hard way that unless you are paying very top dollar for top level first or second pop kits, quality of everyting including the incidentals such as the hose you mention falls off quickly.

Honestly, even with MG GUndam kits I hardly ever use what is provided and just keep a stock of  spring unit etc from Kotobukiya andWave option on hand.

Anytime we deal with an overseas supplier, and you are workign with a middleman, there is going to be a problem somwhere along the line.  Thier USsupplier is yet another level of middlemen , most liklely the importer from the Thai casting shop where this copy was most likely recast.  Ive learned my lesson the hard way, and now I ask others to make a more informed purchase.

It sounds trite, but again, Im sorry for your situation, you do feel unfairly treated...we have all been there when it comes to markings, options, etc etc that just dont materialize but is included in the manufacturers/ distributors webshots.  The old adage "buyer beware" certainly applies here.......( I saw the kit biult up in Houston last year and based on what I saw there decided NOT to buy it, BTW)

Power loader modelers take heed!

I just wanted to give anyone considering buying the aoshima 1/12 power loader,a heads up.I purchased one from Federation Models, and recieved my kit very quickly, only to discover that I was given less than 1 foot,of tubing, which is not enough to do 1/4 of the hoses required!I never intended to use the hose supplied with the kit anyway, but they would have been used on other projects, bottom line is I paid for something,I did not recieve. Here is the e-mail I recieved when I contacted Feaderation models,"Hi John

We buy these kits from a US supplier so we have no idea how you
would contact Aoshima. If we had a source for it here or some extra tubing
we would certainly send it to you.
I would suspect you could find something comparable in a hobby shop or you
could use the same gauge wire for the same effect."

Sorry,
PL      Sorry?,that is the best I get,how about a disclaimer, stating that the kit might be missing pieces,I talked to a fellow modeler, who purchased the kit when Aoshlma,re-issued it a few years back, same thing, only he contacted Aoshima, and they told him, thats all he got.I don't hold Federation responsible, but I find it very difficult to believe, that I was the only customer to be shorted on tubing, considering the number of kits, they have sold.I know this seems trivial, over 30 cents, worth of vinyl tubing, but that is not the point.I expect what I pay for,and had this been a resin garage kit,or a bagged kit there would be no problem, but I purchased a brand new kit, costing over $50.00,or at least a repop of the original Halcyon kit,in which by the way,had a surplus of tubing.I learned my lesson, and even though I don't put blame on Federation models,I will never order from them again, because they don't back the products they stock, why can't they get in touch with the "US suppliers",is that my job, after paying for a product? I have ordered from Starship modeler, and they jump through hoops,to please their customers, the same goes for Culttvman, excellent customer service.I am sorry if I have offended anyone, but I believe in recieving, all and what was advertised, that I purchased.Thanks.
