FM X-wing almost Red 3
Posted by ssgkopp on Wednesday, May 2, 2007 8:43 PM

well i finished it well mostly  the base is not done and will have to wait this is offically my last model for a while  i packed my modeling stuff yesturday to move to a new house in two weeks and it will stay packed as im shortly going to Iraq for awhile

the kit went together great as usual with FM kits  i had to repaint it once as my gloss coat had a major issue  second time around went good

i used MM light gray and then mixed a darker shade with it to give some variation weathering is acylic detergant wash and pastels

my only problem with the build was the 100 decals this thing comes with i did not use them all but i hate decals they went down great with some micro set and sol

this is not really any one x-wing it sports Red 3's number but i added differant decals to make it look better to me and using the studio scale shots avalible at SSM the decals provided for red 3 are wrong in the FM directions

well here are the pics

thx guys

Great model!  The X-Wing is dear to me in model form as it was one of the first models I ever built.  When I was 12 or so I went to a Star Trek convention and ended up with Star Wars models. LOL!  I hung the X-Wing, TIE Interceptor, and B-Wing with fishing line from my ceiling after gluing them together.  At that time, I painted the TIE's wing panels thingies black and threw a little red on the X-Wing.  They were about 30,000 times less cool that this one.  Great job!
