Fine Molds announces 1/48 scale X-Wing!

Just saw this early report from the Shizuoka Hobby Show:

Second picture from the bottom.

Apparently Fine Molds has announced a new X-Wing in 1/48 scale, with what appears to be some nice accessories.
According to the Japanese text, the price has not yet been determined, and it's slated for release this Winter.

Not sure what this means for their 1/72 line...perhaps they will pursue both scales?

This is FANTASTIC news!!! Hopefully they will do both scales. I don't know how realistic it is, but I for one, would love to see the Millennium Falcon done in 1/48 scale. Perhaps this time using the 5' Original Falcon as reference. That 1/48 X-Wing is looookin beautifull!

Regards.

I just spent the day at the show today, and the link originally posted by me indicated it was the 1/48 kit, but is in fact a pre-painted semi-assembled 1/35 model that is tooled by Fine Molds and sold by Kotobukiya as a series of "trading figure" models. You buy it a piece at a time, and put it all together.

Saw the actual Fine Molds 1/48 X-Wing today too, and it is indeed nice.
It's going to be a snap-together kit, but don't let the stigma that usually goes with that description fool you: the detail is as sharp as you'd expect from FM. There will also be a choice of peel-off stick-n markings and standard water-slide markings, to appeal to a wider modeling audience.

Saw the Y-Wing today, too....MAGNIFICENT!!! Much larger than I thought it would be, too.

I am looking forward to this one. I been wanting a 1/48 scale X-Wing for a while now. Hope they do all the fighters as well...Y-Wing, A-Wing, B-Wing, Tie fighter, Tie bomber, Tie Intercepter, Vader's Tie, Jedi Star Fighters, extra extra.

Now a 1/48 scale Falcon? Even if you were able to afford it...where would you put it? But since we are talking big....how about a 1/48 scale Star Destoryer? Laugh [(-D] Just kinding.
