The FM TIE was my first foray back into model building after a 17 year hiatus.

It is a beautiful kit.  All the parts fit just like they're supposed to.  The hardest part is the decals.  1/72 decals on the pilots helmet is an experience in frustration.

I have the X-wing in my stash, but it's behind a 1/48 F4U and 1/48 P-61.

I got both of my kits off of ebay for really decent prices, so check there before HLJ.

Personally, done the X-wing, Tie-Fighter, Tie-Interceptor, Jedi Starfighter, Bobba and Jango Fett Slave 1's and currently busy on 2 Y-Wings.

Nope, no Aluminum Falcon, just too big for my small place(but would love to get going on a 900+parts model).

They guys are known to do their homework prior to creating a model, they take literally hundreds of reference pics from the Studio models to get the kits as accurate as possible.

The Tie's are beautiful with the black panels being sandwiched between 2 wing halfs, well detailed cockpits too.

Also looking forward to the new releases 1/48 X-Wing and a 1/35 X-Wing Dio that will be sold by Kotobukiya as a Gashapon(pre-assembled and pre-painted.

Yep, not cheap. But than FM only got a distribution licence for japan, so all the kits will need to be imported from Japan. But still worth it, IMO.

FYI, ROG only got a distribution licence for europe too.

I have built the Fine Molds TIE Fighter, have their X-Wing and Millennium Falcon kits on my shelf, and have the Y-Wing on the way.  All of them are excellent kits that are worth every penny, even the big buck Falcon.  The TIE Fighter went together better than any other kit I've built in my nearly thirty years of model building.  The hardest part of building that kit was decicing what color to paint the display stand.  I very much doubt you will be disappointed in any of Fine Molds Star Wars kits.

I've just purchased the Fine Molds X- and Y-Wings, and the TIE Fighter from HLJ.com.

Given their cost, I'm curious what quality of builds these kits will be.  I've read lots of glowing reviews so I'm confident that they will be good builds.  I know the Y-Wing is a new release, but what experiences have others had with the X-Wing and TIE Fighter?  Would really love to get my hands on that Millennium Falcon but I don't feel good about parting with $$$$$$$$$ for what is - bottom line - a piece of plastic.  Maybe one day but not now.
