My 1/72 Star Wars projects.
Hi guys, been a while.. Have been away from the site, and for that matter modeling for a few months now. But lately I have gotten the bug back and have been starting a few projects to get me back in the groove again.
Although I have collected alot of stuff in 1/48. There is no question that Fine Molds has really looked after us in the range of Star Wars kits they have released over the last few years, and so after selling all of my previous 1/72 kits to collectors, I always wanted to restock the kits for my own display, and so here I am.. It all started with the FM Jango Fett Slave 1. I got this kit off auction cheap, and so had it packed away for about 6 months.. I was then able to get another one that I was going to let go, but decided to keep it, and do it like the Bobba Fett version (I know, I know FM has a Bobba Fett version) But after picking this one up for roughly $15, I decided that it will be customised somewhat instead.
So here is where I am at. In this first pic, you can see the two slaves standing side by side at the back, and the 1/72 FM X-Wing and Jedi Starfighter in the front.. You will notice a Naboo N1 Starfighter and a snowspeeder there aswell.. Although a smidge too large, the Galoob N1 Starfighter was something I thought was a great adition to my 1/72 fleet.. I will admit that now it looks out of place, but once I have the other kits built up, and I give it a little work, it will fit in.. As for the Snowspeeder. This is the metal toy that was released in the 80's. I pulled it apart, painted the bright orange figure that they put in the back, and then added a 1/72 Pilot figure painted as Luke in the front, and it was at that point that I realised that this thing is as close to 1/72 as you would get. Infact I am sure it is..
The second pic is of my Jango Slave 1 with a Hasbro Jango Fett figure for display.. Remember all of these models are not complete, and parts have been dry fitted, such as the cockpit ect..
Third pic is the Bobba Fett Slave.. I decided to keep it the same as the Jango, but only added the actual console to give it the difference in look. I got this piece from the AMT Slave 1 and placed it in there.. I have always been of the belief that both slaves are the same ship, so I dont believe that Bobba changed it all that much.
And here is the little Snowspeeder I am working on..
Cheers, Chris
