1/144 MSV RGM-79L GM Light Armor
Posted by dj898 on Sunday, August 5, 2007 8:34 AM

While working on the Gundam OYW I decided to take a day off to clear my mind - I'm yet to decide whether to make it as GM OYW or yet another Gundam OYW.
Anyway, I was watching the Terminal on the channel Nine and to kill the time during those annoying ad break I decided to build a HGUC GM kit that I have lying around.

Now this is rather hack job and the small details will be added later before I pull out the airbrush set. It's rather simple modification that probably took me around half an hour to get it done. ^ ^;

Also it's good excuse to use those scrap 1mm pla-plates that usually accumulated in the junk box after couple of projects.

Interesting. I dont have the 1/144 kit but I do have a MG version.

Since I Dont have the kit, what mods did you make, and what color scheme will you use?

Here're HGUC GM built as OOB Vs modified GM Light Armour.

This will show the areas that I modified.  (The mod is about two hours worth of tinkering on and off while watching Tom Hanks' Terminal on the telly. ^ ^;)
For colour scheme I will stick to the official one with the some weathering and damage...

By the way if you want to do with the MG kit I suggest to start with MG GM Kai instead of GM.
FWIW, here's one I found while searching Internet for the reference.

Due to some rather bad weather I've only been able to put on the primer...

Hopefully weather will be good so I can move onto painting stage...

That orange should be more stronger but guess due to the flash it came out bit washed out... doesn't matter as this is just WIP pictures anyway

Looks like I forgot to update on this kit. ^ ^

After long hard look I've decide to finish this one without the heavy weathering as I planned initially.
Next time I build another one I'm definitely going to try the heavy weathering though~

I've fiddled these pictures with the Photoshop to get the colour of orange close to the model's colour.
All previous pictures showed ted bit lighter shade of orange...
However in doing so I somehow introduced too much noise... -__-;

About the lack of photo, I'm not good at the action pose.
Did tried couple and all of them looked rather goofy looking~ OTL

And you can check out the WIP I did for this build at below link.
