The Fed ship recognition manual from FASA calls the design a "single-engine lock"found on several Andorian designs. The arms don't move, but they'd also be the most challenging parts to scratchbuild. The Andor class is another nice design, as well as the Chandley. The schematics site should have those too.

Actually, Dwight, only the saucer & the horizontal part of the rollbar is stock, the rest is all scratched & bashed. Not too easy for me to do. I'm proud of it, but I still see all those little flaws.
Have you tried getting a kit off of eBay?

Oooooo..... funky! The interesting thing about those FASA designs is that they thought of designs I never would have. Now the engineer in me is asking "Why are the nacelles 'way out there'?" Does this thing have any specs to explain that? Do those arms articulate?
Perhaps once PL puts out a 1/1000 TMP kit, I'll do it. Sad thing is that it'll be out by the time I'm done with the four or five I want to do next! Big Smile [:D]

Outstanding job. Nice to see a movie era build-up. I always loved those "large" designs like those in the Ships of Star Fleet books. Now, How 'bout a Northampton for your next project................

Thanks for the thoughts, everyone! I worked on that thing for so long, all I can see are a hundred microscopic flaws.
J-Hulk & Woody- I just finished a Shelley Class, but havn't gotten a chance to take pictures yet. I'll post them as soon as I get them scanned.
Any other opinions (good or otherwise) are welcome! Big Smile [:D]

Thank you! It's great kitbashed Star Trek ships like your that are convincing me to try a starship. I'll keep my eye peeled for more of your kits.

WOW...

Very nicely done and very inspiring! It is nice to see a project that forges ahead into new territory instead of just the same old thing. Way to go!

Prince o' S II, that rocks! I like the funky design, and the execution is brilliant. An excellent work; not just an excellent first attempt!
I look forward to seeing your next starship.

Hey everyone! I know that alot of us jump around between here & other BBs, but I thought that I'd ask here, as I know that some are dedicated to this site. Big Smile [:D]
On CultTV Man's site, a Trek non-canon kitbash I finished a couple months ago was just posted. It was my first serious kitbash, mostly due to the secondary hull & nacelles. For those of you farmilliar with him, it's one of Jackill's designs.
I was hoping to get some opinions on it. My ultimate goal is to get some more ideas/knowledge for my next big bash which kinda looks like a cross of an Intrepid & Galaxy.
Anyway, here's the link to my build:

Thanks for any opinions! Cool [8D]
