My Latest Project and My Latest Addition-Medusa Completed
Posted by Admiral Grasshopper1 on Tuesday, August 28, 2007 3:38 PM

Hello It has been awhile since I have posted here,I have been busy doing repairs and putting stuff away from my recent move. I would like to share a kit that I got off the auction site. It is a 1/2500 Medusa Class Starship,Excelsior Variant.

It has been tuff getting the kit this far as trying to balance the model, getting the nacelles on top to stay aligned and stay down in place instead of the dropping effect,so I have reinforced it with styrene bits. A pain but what can you do,especially with the humidity and the heat factoring in also.

I am not finished yet,but here is a first glimpse at it:

Next I have added to my collection a very fine piece of art,Below is the Valdore that I also got from the auction site. It was built by VirtualScratchbuilder. This model is totally made from Balsa, from what I was told approximately 176 pieces and some cardstock also.

This is totally handcrafted and is a nice addition to any collection. I have added a metal rod and wood plaque to make a display stand. Here is a picture:

**On a side note,I have done things in the past I am not proud of in the modeling community, and I have learned how things work with the different forums. I apologize to all I have upset in the past and I have a special apology for the 2500 forum on my blog: http://saiyagohan.blogspot.com/
I am from the heart sorry, and it is my hope to put the past behind me and move on.

Here is my completed Medusa:

I almost did not think this would get finished,I had this break from the bottom nacelle and it was a Bear getting this to stay again,I had to disassemble it,and reattach it. And I thought the rod(Paperclip) I put through the bottom of the top nacelle housing, well it still made them
droop downward,I had to let the weight of the ship sit on the front of the nacelles to get them to balance out,so far so good.

I hope someone will make some 2500 excelsior class decals for this,so I can name it and finish it as far as decals. Anyway enjoy.

Admiral Grasshopper:  That is a nice looking ship.  Do you remember where you got the reference of that ship?  I keep going back to Starfleet Museum but have not seen any new additions.  I would like to start scratchbuilding againing but I get stuck on parts that I need machined from a lathe I do not have.  It would be nice to see a group build of scratchbuilt Klingon, Romulan, or any other advesary ships.  Yah...that would be interesting:)
