MPC X-Wing COMPLETE!!!
Posted by Anonymous on Saturday, September 1, 2007 7:41 PM

Well, I decided that my display wasn't quite finshed enough, so.....here is the final product.

What do you guys think? Each one of those panels were cut separately and glued into place. It went cross eyed by the time I was finished!

The pics don't show the weathering very good.........it's really dirty, I think the flash my have something to do with it.

That's pretty sweet. Did you make the base yourself? Or is that an aftermarket bit?

I made it myself. It's entirely scratchbuilt. The base is wood, of course and all the bits is sheet styrene. The bigger parts is layers of styrene cut to shape then glued, filled and sanded.

Nice. Very well composed. It must have been like playing a crazy game of 3D Tetris. Good idea with the acrylic rod, I almost didn't see it.

Good paint on the X-wing too!

Very nice! Looks as nice as the Finemolds offering and the base is sweet too.

That's very nice!  The only thing I could possibly think of to "improve" (not that it needs it, mind you) would have been to rig some engine lighting.  Great build of what I consider the greatest all-time movie space craft.

And you even got the thermal exhaust port in there! Big Smile [:D]

Very nice!  That's some hard work, & it shows!

Thats pretty sweet. Maybe wire a blue LED coming out to simulate a proton torpedo lol. But ya very nice work, lighting the engine and a torpedo would be a nice touch to an already fabulous model though.

Steve,

Very nice x-wing and that base adds a lot of character.  I hope to see more of this fine craftsmanship.  Very good job!
