Update!, Superdetailed lightup Starfury is done.
Posted by Madman Lighting on Saturday, September 8, 2007 4:40 PM

Hi All,

You asked and now you shall recieve, my superdetailed SeaWitch StarFury is done.

What did I do?  Re-scribed all the panel lines, simulated battle damage, added lit engines and a fully lit cockpit (including instrument panel), weathered it well, added accurate cannons and an accurate SeaWitch decal on top.

Thanks much to Dons Light and Majic for the clear lighting parts and Starship Modeler for the cannons and decals.

Here you go:

O!  I should have said.  Its from Babylon 5, it ran for 5 years on sci-fi TV.  There were a few movies and they've just released a new movie direct to DVD.  Bruce Boxlitner played Capt John Sheridan who commanded the Babylon 5 space station which was a kind of trading post/diplomatic mission.  It later became the central command post of two major wars and finally the start of a new interplanetary government.  Really good plots and good effects.

The Starfury is the most common zero-g fighter that Earthforce uses for all their ship-to-ship and short range fighter missions.  Its a single person short to medium range fighter craft with very high mauverability and four large pulse cannons.  Pilots like to decorate them with "nose art" on their center dorsal surfaces so they can easily see who is who.

There's a "B" verson of this ship which sports a chain gun under the nose and a rear gunner and a newer model callled a "Thunderbolt" which has two seats and can operate inside an atmosphere as well as zero-g.

Very nice job. the weathering is great and the lighting really adds a new dimension to it.

btw, Babylon5 is one of the few sci-fi shows that fly like they are in a vacuum, ie fly backwards and shoot!
