The Breen cruiser is just about the strangest ST vessel ever, but you sure have done it justice.

Thanks Woody I think that is one of the best compliment I have gotten, especially from someone with your talent on modeling. I am just sad I missed out on the kit you patterned and mastered awhile back. I would have really liked to built that and display it for all to see. But I guess I am just out of luck.

Your welcome. As far as the Baton Rouge goes, I still have the master patterns so it might be kitted again someday. You never know. Wink [;)]

Well I will welcome the day when it is kitted again,I will buy 2 or 3 of them just to have different named kits. I think you did an excellent job making the pattern,it is different and it is definitely Trek.

Admrial, Nice Breen ship.  I have to agree with Woody on it being on of the strangest ST ships out there.

Woody, I have a question for you.  Some time back you posted on one of the scratch build group builds (which I miss those group builds) about how you did the saucer section.  I am in the process of building the Dadelus Class, going on a couple of years now and I was using your technique for the section that tapers.  Every time I try to do the laminate plastic, drill press, and file it seems the plastic breaks into little chunks at times.  The sheet plastic is plastruct or Evergreen.  have you had any problems like this?  I know it probably should not take this long building this ship but since I do not have the tools and things like this happen I get fustrated at length if time and occuring problems I push off and start another model.  I thought about sending out some of these parts to get machined but that kind of defeats sratchbuild.  Looking for advice on the laminating and filing technique.

Sorry Admiral for popping in here and asking about something totally off the wall.  I do like your Breen ship.  I like the color of it, nicely done.  I have a USS Enterprise 1701-A which I have had for years but I have not started it because I do not want to screw it up or have the kids get at it.

Thanks,

Scott

How fast is the drill press going? Is it crumbling or are small pieces of melting plastic clumping up? Are you using a course or fine file? I miss the GBs too by the way. Wink [;)]

Woody, not sure how fast the drill is going but the plastic crumbles.  I am using a fine file.  I do not keep the file resting on the plastic so it won't melt but every now and then a small chunk comes off.  I then tried using Squaron Putty (green) but that just never seems to stick. The next thing to try would probably be the home made putty from scrap plastic stock.  The other problem I have run into is that with all these circular shapes, it hard to line up on center.  I will figure it out one of these days or I will just have to convince my wife a lathe is a necessity.  I think my odds of becoming President are betterSmile [:)]

That turned out looking pretty nice, George! Good job.

Thanks Griff, I think it looks good myself. I really like this kit because it is an enemy ship.
