I have both the 1979 and the 1996 editions. The 96 version used some of the articles from the 79 edition and incorporated new articles from FSM. If you have FSM back issues then you?ll have all of them. These are the new articles in the 96 version.
Lighting AMT?s Klingon Battle Cruiser
Painting and Mounting a Klingon Bird of Prey
Wiring Ertl?s Next Gen Enterprise
Accurizing Ertl/AMT?s Starship Enterprise
Making Galileo Accurate
Science-Fiction Modeling with Junk

Hope this helps.

The Star Trek book, in my opinion, was a waste of good money. It is fine for a beginner, though. My copy of Fact and Fantasy is dogeared from years of drooling over and trying to make my models look like the ones in there.

My Famous Spaceships of Fact and Fantasy is the 2nd edition and dated 1996. The book is comprised of former articles from Fine Scale Modeler.

There may even be a 3rd edition out, I do not know. I doubt it since they split the meat of the volume (Star Trek and Star Wars kits) into their own stand alone books (A Galaxy Far Away & Spaceships at the Final Frontier).

...a newer revised version of spaceships of fact and fantasy was published? I have the original, and I remember the new book's projects were taken from the pages of finescale. again, any info would be greatly appreciated!
