As long as I've posted it on the armor forums I thought that I might as well repeat the text as well here:
THis vehicle was built from a 1/35th Italeri German Elephant. The rear hull is the top of the engine area standing vertically with a couple equipment bays and a rear door added. The rig holding the Firemonth II probe is a engine maint. stand from a Monogram F-84F. The probe is the top part of a 1/144th gundam model with some modifications added, including putting a camera lens where a tank's gun barrel would have gone. The hatch to the right is the engine hatch from a M-113. Other parts are from the spares boxes.
Inside are four positions using 1/48th Aces II ejection seats with headsets resting on a hook on each one.The piece between the two forward seats is a canopy collar from a Lancaster with some red tinted epoxy on top of silver paint to make it reflect back. The canopy frame is made from plastruct angle iron and the fold down work platforms are from spares and the fire suppression bottles are from another Japanese S.F. kit.
The ladder going up the side is from plastruct and the cable rockets are from a Monogram Hurricane. The blisters on the top are from an old space station kit and the laser is designed after the laser weapons on the 1960's show Lost In Sapce and sits on tracks to enable it to move in four directions as well as rotate.
The small land probe is the bottom half of the Gundam kit that I used for the Firemoth probe. I added a clear dome with a camera and a few extra parts.
