Yes, It is the Darkstar 1/1000 USS Defiant Resin Kit that was available for a short time over at Starship Modeler's Store for $35.00. However I got mine from the Pattern Maker himself Matt Meyer. You may find one on Ebay from time to time as this kit is now rare.

Thanks for the compliment also I think for this being handpainted it turned out good. And as I said before I do this for fun, not to try to be the best or think I am the best. Because I know there are others who are a lot better than me. And see the whole point here is well people look at this and I have a few compliments or constructive comments.

Well I learn from this anyway you slice this. And every comment is noted and appreciated. Anyway Snoopy,thanks.......

George,

I think that is a nice looking model.  I have tried hand painting but always get strwaks no matter what tips and techniques I try.  What counts to me is that you have fun and like the out come.  I think when you get your airbrush up and running, you will like the results.  Is that model a garage kit.  I do not think I have seen the Defiant that small any where.

Welcome Back Chris,

I appreciate the support. I am not perfect and I have never claimed to be perfect in the 20 years I have been doing models.  I have been doing models to have fun. I am not a perfectionist nor have I claimed to be one.  I post what models I have completed, and enjoy what response I do receive.  Others have looked at my work, and some have commented that it is good, and I have received constructive comments also. Which Both are good.

I am learning and still will be learning on my techniques. I always try to improve myself.  But I always try to remember,it is about having fun. And I have just bought an Airbrush, and I am in the process of setting up another room in my house to use to do my painting on my kits. But I still like to hand paint also. I do not rush in doing my kits, I do take my time doing this. And I'll admit sometimes my hands are not so steady.

But that is all a part of learning. And as far as replies,it is not replies I look for. It is the fact I can share my work so members who notice every thing wrong can give constructive comments on what I'm doing.  Then I can learn from the different things I need to improve on. Thanks for your comments that are always welcome.

Take Care

Hi Admiral,

Not trying to be rude here, but you said that you have been modeling for 20 years?

I have noticed that in recent times you dont get alot of replies to your threads, and in all honesty, I think it maybe is because the guys that post here, really dont know what to make of your builds...  FSM is usually a site where-by the members are very supportive, and even though a model isnt the best, they will usually reply with good replies... So there must be a reason for why they dont reply to you?

I think the issue with your builds is that although you feel as though you put alot of effort into them, the end result comes across to me anyway as very rushed and  lacking in preperation.. The fact that you hand paint your models, and alot of the detail is un-even and course, would suggest that maybe you should study a little more about preperation and take a little more time in doing the models that you are doing...

You and I have had our run ins over the years, but as far as I am concerned, that is long behind us, and I am posting now in order to offer you a form of support in the hope that you  are able to improve your modeling skills.. Even if you cant afford an airbrush, then masking and taping your subject and hitting it with a rattle can will give you a much cleaner and  smoother finish at the end.. I look at your paintwork and want to say that you obviously cant keep the brush between the lines, and so your work shows that, and it is for that reason they dont look the way that I guess you think they do..

If I can make a suggestion, I would suggest you spend a lot of time in the " Tools and Techniques" section and look and learn. Alot of the guys here can help you out regarding your painting and preperation problems...

I want to wish everyone a very Happy Holiday.
